Trying New Things

After purchasing (and loving) an epoxy resin round created with alcohol inks, I wanted to try some for myself. Suited up with my mask to protect my lungs, I did my first attempt. The resin release spray added texture and I didn’t get all the bubbles out unfortunately (and now I know why that’s such a problem), but for a first try it was a success!  Continue reading Trying New Things

First Piece Sold!

For a variety of reasons I’d decided recently that as much as I enjoy making the canvases, I would focus my attentions on the smaller pieces like the greeting cards and jewelry (and whatever else I dream up). Emerging from the Darkness

Emerging from the Darkness is the name of this Inspired Flow Art piece. The colors in it are:

  • Earthy shimmer representing taking new ground
  • Dark patina shimmer representing tender new beginnings
  • Alizarin crimson representing vibrant breakthrough
  • Pearl representing hope
  • Glorious gold shimmer representing beauty from the brokenness (like Kintsukuroi, which means “Repaired with Gold” where a broken vessel is repaired with gold, creating new beauty and strength from what had been broken)
  • Black representing darkness before the dawn
